Few Line Reviews—Part Two of Three!

I’ve got nine more reviews here, and figured I’d post them up as I’m not sure when I’ll finish off my pile of comics from this week (5/6/2009). I’m itching to continue feeding my Conan binge, so the weekly fare is going to have to take a backseat to some sword-swinging adventures. Also, I just got a review copy of the action novel Shatner Quake by Jeff Burk in which a series of characters played by Shatner enter our reality and try to kill the actual Shatner at ShatnerCon—could you patiently wade through other fiction with that on your bookshelf?! I think not!

Far from a bullseye

With the amount of bows and arrows that appear in comics, it amazes me that artists and editors consistently overlook the basic mechanics and proper form required to accurately portray an archer in their books. This week’s cover to Deadpool #10 is a prime example of one of the many slips that occur when archery appears in comics.

HOLLA ATCHA BOY!

Spoilers ahead! So be wary, web-sailors!

The recent relaunch of Deadpool has been quite the comic treat so far. Writer Daniel Way is exhibiting better control with ol’ Wade Wilson than…well, anything he’s ever written! By far his best work, and just a must-read (I’ll gush a bit more about it with a review tomorrow, so check back)!

I’m enjoying it so much that I decided these last two panels of issue #2 (which came out this week) had to get a call out in my “Great Comic Quotes” section, so here they are!
