My new gig!

Back in September, I left Dark Horse Comics after six years to pursue a position at a brand new company. But, due to the top secret nature of that new job, I couldn’t say anything about where I was headed.

-Got engaged to an amazing woman.

-Gave the acceptance speech at the Eisner Awards when Dark Horse Presents, on which I work, won its second Best Anthology award. It also won it’s second Harvey Award in the same category this year.

-Attended my third consecutive Lollapalooza.

-Participated in my fifth consecutive Movember fundraiser as part of a network that raised nearly $30,000.

-Drank Bourbon on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

-Saw my sister graduate from college.

-Moved in with my best friend.

-Edited my first book (The Black Beetle Vol. 1: No Way Out) that ended up on a ton of year end “Best of” lists.

-Worked on 69 different comics and books published/released in 2013.

-Lived with a cat for the first time.

I’m not a writer.

I can write. I’ve been paid to write. But I know writers. Real writers. Sit down and type for hours because they have to writers, agonizing over every word writers, write or go crazy writers… And I’m not one of them.

I got the first few comments on my Movember 2010 mustache today, which means—that’s right—it’s visible! My “‘stache stain” is dirty and thin, but it’s there and it has no choice but to bloom into a full blown mustache of mammoth proportions!
