From a few feet away, you might think I had soot on my hands, scratched under my nose and was doing a spot on impression of Michael Banks. These are the early days of Movember. The rough ones. It’s Day 2 and mustaches at this point are essentially invisible. In good lighting, you can almost see a shadow of a ‘stache on my upper lip. Hopefully, my Mo Bros can say the same. It’s not easy Mo’ing it up at this point. You either look like you’ve got nothing or you forgot to shave your upper lip. Not ideal… but hey, the final result is well worth it! Hang in there, Mo Bros!

The big day’s finally here. Movember 1st. The game is afoot!
Last night (or this morning) the entirety of Mammoth-Stache shaved up for the kick-off of Movember. Fresh-faced, we all walked into a new world: A world that will soon feature our most excellent mustaches!

Just a week away from the official kick off of Movember, Mo Bro Ammar Bahrani has joined Team Mammoth-Stache! Adding his powerful upper lip and the $33 he’s already raised for the cause, Ammar’s addition gives Mammoth-Stache a foothold in another American city (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and moves us into the 11-or-more team bracket! We’re now, even more so, a force of moustachery to be reckoned with!

Wow, what a day!
In the past 24 hours, Team Mammoth-Stache received over $300 in donations from 13 different people. That’s a lot of mustache love and generosity going to benefit Movember! On behalf of the whole Mammoth-Stache crew, I’d like to pass along a huge “thank you” to everyone who took the time to donate today! Seeing my e-mail inbox fill with donation notifications felt like having pure happiness poured into my chest. The reaffirmation that you know tremendously great people is always fantastic, and I’m sure that will end up being my favorite part of Movember… kinda like it was last year. Again, thanks you so much, everybody!

Last year, I joined the Movember campaign because it seemed like a fun way to get involved and make a difference in the fight against cancer. Grow a mustache to raise money for education and research about men’s health issues? That’s my kind of charity!
It’s an amazing cause, but one of the main reasons I’m back this year is because the folks who crew the Movember campaign have been generous, kind, helpful and extremely involved. Grassroots gone global, if you will. I blogged about my first foray into Movember madness last year and received a personal message and box of fund-raising goodies from Movember CEO Adam Garone. This year, Andy Leonetti from Movember’s LA offices got in touch, gave me loads of encouragement about ramping up Movember efforts in a new city and then sent me a box full of excellent bits of swag!

It’d be easy to assume that my enthusiasm for mustaches in the lead up to Movember is reaching unhealthy levels based on the amount I’ve been blogging and talking about the fundraiser, but thankfully it’s impossible to be “too excited” about mustaches. That’s pure science fact! Ask a scientist, they’ll absolutely verify that… with data!
